Programme Description
DIPLOMA IN BUSINESS STUDIES
The Diploma in Business Studies programme is designed as a bridging programme for students to take up a degree in Business, while at the same time preparing them for the competitive job market of the 21st century. The programme is broad-based and provides students with basic knowledge and skills in marketing, management and accounting. Emphasis is placed on giving the students hands-on, practical learning experiences, thus enhancing their employability upon graduation. Core subjects include Business Communication, Economics, Business law and accounting. The average student completes the programme of study during a period of one year. Upon graduation, students may choose to continue their degree studies. Qualified diploma holders are admitted into the second year of the Bachelor of Business Administration Programme at Kings University College or any other university.
CURRICULUM
While teaching the basics of the formal education syllabus prescribed by the Ghana Education Service, we seek to develop the intellectual, physical, moral, emotional and social abilities of our students. The programmes are designed to provide an all-round education to enable the students develop into productive, conscientious and self-respecting members of society.
The pivotal point of our curriculum is the development of critical thinking skills. We believe in teaching pupils and students how to think rather than what to think. We want our students to be able to analyze and evaluate what they are.

RECOGNITION
The Diplomas are awarded by GES (Ghana Education Service) and are internationally recognised.
Internship: 3 – 6 months internships coordinated by School of Business, Office of Academic Dean
SESSIONS:
- Morning school – 8 am – 2pm
- Evening school - 6 - 8pm Monday to Friday
- Weekend school - 6 - 8pm on Friday and 7am till 4pm on Saturday
Entry Requirements:
Prospective students will be expected to have at least 4 passes including Maths and English and any other 2 elective subjects. This applies to both WASSCE (S.S.S.C.E) and 'O' level graduates. Other qualifications may be accepted from mature students who must be over 20 years old.
Application forms will be available from the administration office. They may also be downloaded from the website and the fee will be payable on submission of forms.
Applicants will be expected to provide the following in addition to their application:
- Certified true copies of academic results
- 1 Passport size photograph
